We are often asked if we are accredited. The answer is not only "No we are not"....but in addition....."Nor will we ever be!"
If someone ever tells you that your child cannot get into college if they don't graduate from an accredited high school.....they are either misinformed.....or outright lying.
Hundreds of thousands of home-schooled children get into college every year without a problem. In fact, Harvard and Yale prefer homeschooled children as they know that they have been grounded in the basics.
A college does not care whether or not your child's high school was accredited. All they care about are the SAT scores. Period!
Accreditation is little more than the state's attempt to control the curriculum and indoctrinate children with their view of the world. It's one of the many lies propagated by the public school system.
Here are a number of other reasons we are not/nor will we ever seek accreditation....
1. Our standards are higher. We will not lower our standards to satisfy some arbitrary definition by the state.
2. Why would we be accredited by the very institution that parents pulled their kids out of....namely the public school? If parents want public school methods.....then they should save their money and enroll them in public schools.
3. It is the classic example of "Physician....heal thyself!!" When the public schools get their act together....then maybe....they might have something worth listening to.
4. We are accredited by God. That may sound silly to some....but it is true. He is the One who authorizes and commands us to raise up our children in the way that is right. He does not tell us to turn that responsibility over to the state.
5. Lastly.......we are accredited by the strongest accrediting agency of all.....THE PARENTS! We have to answer EVERY DAY to our parents. We MUST produce results.....otherwise the parent has every right to take their child elsewhere. With the cooperation of the parents and the hard work of the student.....we WILL produce results.
If you would like we can provide you with plenty of articles that show that accreditation guarantees.......NOTHING! In fact....one Christian School administrator said she sought accreditation for her school for one reason and one reason only. She was tired of answering the question about accreditation. That hardly sounds like a good justification. What about what is best for the children?
Not us.....we would love to talk with you about it. We'll answer any questions you have and we'll back everything up with plenty of research.
UPDATE (4/29/10): After an on site review and a study of our academic program, we have been informed that the military has granted us "Tier One" status. That means, graduates of our school will be treated as graduates of all accredited High Schools in the state of Indiana. This will allow our students to enlist in the military immediately following graduation without any further requirements.
UPDATE (10/21/10): One of our Senior students, Joe Hancock, just received his letter of acceptance today from Indiana University Southeast. Therefore, giving further evidence to the fact that, "accreditation" means NOTHING!
UPDATE (11/4/10): Joe Hancock just received his letter of acceptance to Purdue as well!
UPDATE (3/21/11): Mandy Sweeney has received her letter of acceptance to Ivy Tech!
UPDATE (5/17/11): Mandy Sweeney completed her entrance exams at Ivy Tech and WILL NOT have to take one single remedial course. In fact, she will be immediately admitted into Algebra II classes!!!
